5/10/2023 0 Comments Things like tunnelbear for mac![]() Locate the TunnelBear installation file and double click to open it up.You can manually delete all the accompanying components as well, but it would be better to run the specialized uninstaller to fully remove the application alone with its bundled software or associated items. Those apps will install additional software to provide extended functions, or place library files and associated application dependencies elsewhere in OS X. It is worth mentioning that, some applications for Mac come with their own dedicated uninstallers, e.g. Option 3: Launch TunnelBear built-in uninstaller This way cannot uninstall built-in apps as well. Once you click the X icon, the uninstallation of TunnelBear will be handled immediately, and there is no need to empty the Trash afterwards. This tap-and-hold method is applicable for the apps installed through the App Store, and it requires OS X lion or later. Then click the “X” that appears on the left upper corner of TunnelBear to perform the uninstall. Click and hold TunnelBear icon with your mouse button until it starts to wiggle. ![]() Open up Launchpad, and type TunnelBear in the search box on the top. ![]() Option 2: Delete TunnelBear in the Launchpad Any time you change your mind and wanna undo the deletion of apps or files, just right click the item in the Trash and select Put Back option. Warming: It is important to point out that, emptying the Trash will instantly wipe off TunnelBear as well as other files you’ve thrown into the Trash, and that this act is irrevocable, so make sure you haven’t mistakenly deleted anything before emptying the Trash. In any case you cannot move TunnelBear to the Trash or empty the Trash, try holding the Option key as you choose Empty Trash from the Finder menu, or reboot your Mac and try it again later. Some apps installed using the Mac package installer will prompt you for a password when you try to move it to the Trash. Most 3rd party apps can be smoothly uninstalled in that way, but you cannot delete built-in apps by doing this. ![]() This drag-to-delete method works in all versions of Mac OS X.
5/10/2023 0 Comments Silo squareMore apt comparisons might be the 443-acre Schilling Farms in Collierville or even the still-planned, 160-acre Lake District in Lakeland. Musselwhite likened the 228-acre district - south of Goodman Road, west of Getwell and east of Tchulahoma - to Midtown Memphis’ Overton Square, where visitors park their car only once and walk to a variety of restaurants and entertainment spots. “This is going to be a game-changing development for our city,” Mayor Darren Musselwhite told about 75 people gathered under a tent near the old, concrete farm silo from which the development draws its name and branding for quaintness. “I hope that by 2023 the entire square will be built out and many other businesses should be here by that time as well.Car-centric Southaven on Tuesday celebrated the groundbreaking of Silo Square, the suburb’s planned community that aspires to blend businesses and housing in a way that is easy, even pleasing, to walk around. “We’ve started building two more buildings in the past couple of weeks and two more will be starting right after the first of the year,” said Hill. Hill hopes to see the project completed in the next couple of years as it continues to be constructed in phases. “All these things that Brian has done with the expansion of the park is not just for our own citizens to enjoy but it is to make us more economically attractive, and it does matter,” Musselwhite said. The mayor explained that companies looking to locate or expand into a community consider amenities for the people who work for them and their families. Not only does it improve the quality of life for our citizens but it also makes us economically attractive.” “This development is going to provide both of those things. “One of them was pedestrian options and the other thing is entertainment value,” said Musselwhite. Musselwhite responded by saying Silo Square offers two things that have been lacking in Southaven.ĭarren Musselwhite speaks at the grand opening of Silo Square. This area will be sustainable forever and that’s why I was willing to make the investment in Silo Square that we’re making.” “I’ve been in commercial real estate all my life and I’ve done commercial real estate all over the country. “If it weren’t for the park and the city’s vision for the park, I would have never felt confident in creating such a development,” Hill pointed out. A soccer complex under construction is another addition to the area, that already includes youth baseball diamonds, a tennis complex and the amphitheater. The city is building a walking trail that will connect Snowden Grove and Central Park. In his remarks at the grand opening, Hill said Silo Square would not have happened were it not for the present and future plans for Snowden Grove Park. I love sitting and watching all of the people shopping from one place to another. The life that is here already is just amazing. “Our leases are going phenomenal, the buildings are filling up. “We have architects working on buildings seven and eight,” Hill said. Let’s not forget we still may need some GUI applications – yes, this machine is for CI, but imagine that at some point you’d like to debug some functionality. Ansible is one of the most used tools in this area, and has a good track record, so we’ll go with it. On top of that, automation requires some glue between different tools to configure them, provide the needed setup, and report issues in standing up new machines. The free Homebrew is great third-party package manager for macOS which we’ll use for this purpose. Since we’re talking about automation, we need to be able to install software from the command-line to efficiently manage dependencies. It also has a feature called "low battery alarm" which will automatically turn the fans off when the battery is low and turn on again when the battery is full.Īnother cool feature of SMCfanControl is that it comes with both a light control and a timer control. To adjust fan speeds, you have to have administrator privileges. It does this by adjusting the minimum speed of the fan and by setting the maximum power used. ![]() The only thing you'll need to be careful about is keeping the computer on an incline so that there is proper air flow.Ī SMCfanControl allows you to control the fans in your Mac manually just to make it operate much cooler. You can even set up a timer to turn the fans off and on at set intervals. My advice for people who run their programs all the time in a crowded room is to get a SMCfanControl utility that will not only turn their fans off when not needed, but will also automatically shut them off when the room temperature reaches a certain point. Now I have a higher capacity more reliable disk, and a very useful iMac.Įxceptions to the general rules of thumb exist.I've always had a problem with computers overheating, especially when running multiple programs at once, and I'm sure you've experienced the same problem I have. If I had not been able to run a fan control app, I would have had to pay for an expensive unreliable disk every 2 years for the pat 8 years. That 8 year old iMac is still my work iMac which gets used every week day, runs the groups web server, does backups for some critical group services, etc. I eventually got a special SATA cable from OWC that included a chip that emulated the custom Apple firmware which reported disk temps. There are several, but I was using SSD Fan Control. data to monitor the temperature, and adjust the fans accordingly. Using a 3rd party disk causes that model iMac to send the fans into Overdrive! The solution was a utility that uses the disk's S.M.A.R.T. You either got the Apple branded replacement, and suffered a failure again in a few years, or you used a 3rd party. The disk itself was prone to higher failure rates than other disks. In my case, the Late 2009 27" iMac uses a disk with custom Apple firmware, that provided the disk temperature. But there are situations were it is needed. Using a fan control utility should be the exception and not the rule. Make sure you follow these above steps and quit running applications : See how apps affect Mac performance, battery runtime, temperature, and fan activity - Apple SupportĬlick on the sub articles in see how apps affect Mac performance, battery runtime, temperature and fan activity. Using your Mac on a hard, flat surface like a table or desk is best for temperature control. If you use your computer on a soft surface like a couch, pillow, bed, or your lap, its fans might run more. The surface your Mac rests on can block its vents, affecting fan behavior. Mac Pro (Late 2013) brings in cool air through vents at the bottom of the computer and sends out hot air from the top. ![]() ![]()

Walking through the streets of Propast (in Stark) is fantastic experience, with a population from different cultures, set in the far future, but still very recognizable. If nothing else, Dreamfall Chapters features from truly wonderful characters and graphics. I suppose I probably would have chosen to intervene if presented with the decision directly, but there really should have been some sort of internal dialogue to show that Zoe has a choice between stepping in or staying far back without getting involved. For example, an organized crime member was shaking down one of my friends, and I stepped closer to see what was going on, which caused me to intervene. Decisions that impact the Balance are represented by a emblem that appears on the top of the screen, but solutions aren't always straightforward and may be decided accidentally. A prime example is deciding whether to encourage Zoe's boyfriend to embark on a culinary adventure by picking up some pork sausages for his lunch or going with plain grilled cheese. Sometimes, the decisions are subtle and you don't know that you've done something important until after you do it. Sure, it's an important choice for Zoe's development, but not necessarily one that would impress on a new player, who probably wouldn't feel strongly one way or another. The only meaningful decision appears to be whether or not Zoe pursues a career that related to her studies in the previous game or whether she begins her life anew. Almost none of the decision points play out in this episode, and the consequences of your actions won't be realized until future episodes release. Similar to other recent adventure games like The Walking Dead, Dreamfall Chapters has multiple decision points that will determine how things will play out later on in the series. Although Zoe keeps a running diary, the game could benefit greatly from a gallery with character and major event descriptions. I often felt like an outsider looking into this world, especially when at the monument that memorializes the Collapse, a pivotal event that's only vaguely mentioned. Except, the game skips over all the details, so I had no idea what her life looked like until after the scene (and the decision point) were over. In one scene, I have to decide whether or not Zoe (who recently woke up from her coma) should try to recover her lost memories, even if it jeopardizes the life she's currently building for herself. I was eventually able to settle into the game well enough to enjoy it, but it did make some of the supporting characters and Zoe's motivations a little difficult to relate to.ĭialogue choices are supplemented with an internal monologue that gives insight into the character's thoughts, but they can only help so much, especially when characters like Zoe are facing an identity crisis. The plot moves well enough, but it assumes some connection or knowledge of established characters, especially the protagonists Zoe Castillo and Kian. Although the game makes some effort to bring new players up to speed, there's no shaking the sense that playing Reborn is like sitting down to the third act of a movie. Waking UpĮven if you don't take into account how Dreamfall Chapters is a crowdfunded game, there can be little doubt that it was developed with longtime players in mind. The dream device ties into a greater plot that holds the fates of both Stark and Arcadia together. Zoe has the power to enter into dreams and help victims break out, but she's trapped in the dream world due to an artificially induced coma. In Stark, an entertainment device that allows lucid dreams has taken hold and is trapping its users in nightmares. Then there's a parallel world called Arcadia, where magic exists, and the two worlds are separated by a metaphysical divide called the Balance. ![]() The story involves two parallel worlds, a future society that follows the rules of science (Stark), which is effectively our world but set in the year 2219. However, Reborn is the first part in a five-part episodic adventure, so players will still need to stick to it a while longer before seeing a full resolution to Zoe Castillo and Kian's journeys.įor those who are unfamiliar with the series, Dreamfall Chapters continues the saga that was started with The Longest Journey and Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. Although the wait for Dreamfall Chapters isn't quite as long as some other adventure games, eight years comes pretty close, and the game's development shows how dedicated fans are. It's been a long wait, but fans can finally see a resolution to the cliffhanger ending of 2006's Dreamfall: The Longest Journey. |
